Glossary

  • The Blight - Chartarum, the Mycos infecting the world’s selfish and powerful to turn earth into urban squalor for its habitation.
  • Bloom - A smaller subfaction within a Clade faction. The name refers to how members of these groups often consider finding ones “True Bloom” to be the end goal of being a Sporebound, though many Sporebound disagree.
  • Clade - A faction that works for a specific Mycos. In taxonomy, Clades are groups which have a common ancestor. For example, fungus and animals both belong to the Obazoa Clade.
  • Colony - A community of Sporebound, usually composing all the Sporebound of a city
  • Controlled - A Blight infected person who is only infected subconsciously. Is able to take normal actions, but is steered unknowingly by The Blight
  • Consumed - A Blight infected person who is infected both subconsciously and consciously. Extremely powerful but no longer truly human, and incapable of interacting with humans in a covert way.
  • Hilum - A Sporebound who has lost their human nature and become an aspect of their Mycos. If they have not become extreme enough to be hunted down as a threat to the Sporebound, they often lead a subfaction within their faction, and represent that subfaction’s more extreme views. Like the Blight’s Consumed, they do not interact well with people, and are amoral. Named after the scar left when a spore has fallen off its mushroom.
  • The Mycos - The Extra Dimensional beings who appear in this world as different kinds of fungi.
  • Stipe - A place of power in the real world where one of the Mycos can refuel the sporebound. Usually a gathering place. Named after the stalk of the fruiting mushroom body that rises from the soil.
  • Troop - Small group of Sporebound who work together, often across faction lines. Based on the term for a group of fruiting bodies on a single mycelium
