Sporebound LARP: Protest at Verdatech

Fri, December 4th, 2026

VerdaTech is a green tech company in the NJ Pine Barrens that up til now has been a small passion project of the late Roger Verde. Since his death, his son Ethan Verde has stepped in, and brought Verdatech to new heights. But what sort of heights exactly?

While Verdatech has made more and more news, their workers have gotten increasingly restless, complaining about working conditions and pay. This has finally come to head with a full strike from their workers. In response, Verdatech has welcomed the community in a sort of "Open House", to show they mean no ill will, while the workers protest outside. The Sporebound are taking this opportunity to infiltrate Verdatech, and find out what has changed and why they seem to have associated themselves with The Blue Blight.

With a previous catostrophe leaving the Tree Hugger and Dumpster Diver Colony Clade leaders dead, and the former Shroomhead leader on trial for negligence and potentially murder, the Sporebound meeting near Verdatech will be deciding new leaders for their Clades, along with which Clade will be in charge for the Summer season. This will range from contests among the Sporebound, to secret goals for each Sporebound depending on their Clade, to which Clades gain power and influence over the area based on how the drama at Verdatech is resolved.

With the burgeoning union striking outside Verdatech, the previous union rep has been found secretly working for the company's benefit, and new elections are afoot. There are two Sporebound that have taken up with the strikers pushing for their own candidacy. Will the Sporebound throw back one of their visions and influence the workers towards them, or decide the worker Union should get to decide their own fate?

Verdatech's new flagship product is VerdaFlex, notable for its strange bright blue color, flexibility, and lighter weight. Why, it even makes food take longer to spoil! Verdaflex is set to revolutionize the world of plastic, and is being considerated for many wide ranging products across the globe.

This innovative product is the painstaking work of Dr Malika Ro, who the Sporebound would very much like to inquire with.

Made out of Verdatech's flagship Verdaflex, the Verdatree promises to be "Tree 2.0". It's better than trees in every way! It provides shade, a cool place to sit, decorative value both inside and outdoors, and never needs maintenance -- not even watering! Plus, for anyone worried about the environmental impact, Verdatech assures that for every VerdaTree planted, 3 regular trees will be planted elsewhere, where they don't need to clog of the beauty of American towns and cities.

While Verdatree is made in a different factory, Trevor Vos, the Chief Sustainability Officer, will be happy to talk to anyone who will listen about how great the VerdaTree is. Why, maybe he'll even be able to collect a testimonial!

While there are numerous complaints from VerdaTech's striking workers, there's one thing they don't complain about: their private coffee brand, Cafe Verda. Many workers claim that it's the aroma and incredible taste of Cafe Verda that has kept them going this long. VerdaTech, trying to show they care tremendously about their workers, has a table outside with the strikers serving them coffee, and the workers are still drinking it, a small amount of truce in the protest.

Barista Pat Miller, both the Cafe Manager and Verdatech Factory Floor Supervisor, can be seen offering cups of Cafe Verda to strikers at the table. Interestingly, he is also willing to give samples to others there for the open house, a rare treat for an exclusive Verdatech brand.
